About the role
As one of our Technician Specialists, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to our customers' homes, installing products they love such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. You will also share your expertise by coaching and developing other delivery drivers on home installations and customer service skills, acting as a role model for the great service John Lewis is known for.
Salary
Please note the expected starting rate for a Customer Delivery Hub Technician is £38,495 (Annual).
Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Start your day at the delivery hub based on your location before heading out on route.
2. Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand, prioritizing excellent customer service.
3. Coach, develop, and assess your delivery colleagues, providing them with the knowledge to perform at their best.
4. Assist in loading your vehicle with the day's deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
5. Respect the customer's home, handle unexpected situations professionally, and find the best solutions for customers.
6. Install products efficiently, demonstrate their operation once installed.
7. Stay updated with new products and technologies to enhance your performance.
8. Maintain a safe working environment.
Note: This role involves heavy lifting, including large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Essential Skills/Experience
1. Previous installation experience, with support for further training through our installer accreditation.
2. Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
3. DCPC and Tachograph Card.
4. Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
5. Customer-facing experience.
6. Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and face-to-face.
7. Good understanding of technology.
