Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Research Nurse to join the Research Team at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to work in research. The post holder will support a wide range of specialities across the Trust. The post holder will be based at St Helier Hospital (Clinical Trials Unit), but may also be required to support research activity elsewhere in the Trust. A visit to the department would be recommended when applying for this post. You will join research nurses who are currently supporting NIHR portfolio of studies within several specialties, including renal, cardiology dermatology, and stroke. The post holder will also provide research nurse support to the paediatric research team conducting research in paediatric trials across the Trust. Thepost holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinaryteam in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and beaccountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.Responsibilities include: facilitating study set-up; identifying suitable patients through theprocess of MDT's/screening notes; collecting data; interviewing; supporting andmonitoring patients and data entry. The post holder will also be expected to havesufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvementin clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patients advocate.Post holder The post holder must also be willing to move to different clinical specialtieswithin the remit of their qualifications and where the need to do so is identified.
