Job Title: Children’s Social Worker – Intake Team
Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
Rate: £38.14 per hour
An exciting opportunity has recently become available for a Children’s Social Worker to join the Intake Team in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will be responsible for conducting front-door assessments, undertaking section 47 enquiries, and determining the need for longer-term interventions for families. Your role will include issuing court proceedings, engaging in private law work, and ensuring a smooth transfer of cases to the family support team when interventions exceed three months. You will manage a diverse caseload, balance competing demands, and provide high-quality social work services in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, and hold a full UK driving licence. Additionally, you should have a degree-level qualification or equivalent in Social Work and possess post-qualified experience in the field.
