Competitive salary – starting salary £53,265.16, increasing to £56,225.09 upon completion of the skills matrix (approx. 6 months), then a further increase to £59,184.93 upon completion of the skills matrix (approx. 2 months).
The working pattern is primarily a 12 hours days/nights rota and at times a 42 hours a week Mon to Fri day rota depending on the departmental & Company needs.
Primary purpose of the position:
The purpose of the position is to service tooling and ancillary equipment to ensure the smooth and continuous running of the manufacturing area. Although the electrical personnel may be asked to assist on the production line, their normal duties are carried out under the instruction of the Electrical Supervisor with the main aim of servicing the requirements of the manufacturing process and therefore assisting the Plant to meet budget requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring the maximum efficiency from all electrical equipment by means of safe preventative maintenance and safe repair of electrical and electronic equipment within the plant.
2. Making improvements to all electrical equipment and services, participate in workplace inspections, ensuring that electrical risk assessments are completed and reviewed as necessary.
3. Where required assisting with the execution of plant engineering projects from start to completion.
4. Monitoring and assessing contract work to ensure results are to the required company standards.
5. Mentoring of electrical apprentices during training.
6. Ensure operational control procedures, regulations are observed within the plant, and that all registers, records and reports are properly prepared and maintained.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Electrical Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline to at least NVQ L3 or equivalent.
2. A manufacturing background in a high speed, high volume continuous process.
3. Can demonstrate the ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail.
4. A team player with strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work alone under their own initiative.
5. The ability to work well under pressure and organise and prioritise their work load.
6. Ability to read, follow & understand electrical drawings.
7. Working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s and other automation equipment.
8. Working knowledge of legacy automation equipment and software.
