Job Title: Vehicle Test Technician (Electrical) (934)
Location: Cranfield
Pay: £18.01 - £19.00 per hour
We are recruiting a Vehicle Test Technician (Electrical) to join a globally recognised automotive company based in Cranfield. This is a long-term contract role, offering the potential for several years of work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform electronic/electrical tests and validate functions, operation, and reliability, including Power Management, Harness, Body Electronics, Meter, Audio, and Telephone systems.
2. Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of vehicle dis-assembly, assembly, and maintenance techniques.
3. Apply vehicle system knowledge to effectively fault find and troubleshoot issues.
4. Understand and apply component measurement techniques and instrumentation set-up.
5. Operate vehicle diagnostic tools and perform data acquisition and report writing.
6. Conduct facility and instrumentation calibration as needed.
7. Prepare, build, and maintain vehicles or components for tests according to local procedures and client engineering manuals.
8. Support testing in both static and dynamic conditions, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality test data/results.
9. Work alongside Test Engineers to evaluate concerns and identify issues.
10. Contribute to meeting Key Performance Indicators for the section.
11. Provide support to other sections using your skills as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. C&G / BTEC L3 qualification preferred, ideally in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering with a recognised apprenticeship or relevant qualification.
2. Fully proficient in mechanical/electrical skills, preferably in the automotive sector.
3. Ability to work safely and comply with legal and company safety policies.
4. Proficiency in Excel for data management and graph creation.
5. Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint for report writing and presentations.
6. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently and effectively manage and prioritise workload.
Hours & Pay:
1. Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
2. £18.01 - £19.00 per hour.
