Job Summary
We have a position for Third in Charge due to our previous Third in Charge securing a promotion to Deputy Manager.

Are you interested in progressing your career, but nervous about making that transition straight into a Management role? If so, this position would be perfect for you. As a Third in Charge, you will work closely and be supported by the Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Practitioner who is passionate about early years and would love to be part of a fairly new setting, helping to continue to build a beautiful nursery with a small staff team.
As the Third in Charge, you will have excellent knowledge of the EYFS and you will ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds, or medical history. You will help to implement the Nursery curriculum and ensure that this is embedded in your everyday practice.

Purpose of Post:
1. To work under the direction of the Manager and deputise (in the absence of the Deputy) as and when required.
2. To ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare and safety are promoted.
3. To support the aims and objectives of the nursery and assist the Manager in the organisation of a high-quality establishment for children from birth to five years.
4. To provide high standards of care and early learning – to include the monitoring and review of provision, ensuring a safe, caring environment for the personal, emotional, social, and educational development of children.
5. To support the team to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn, and develop.
6. To direct and support staff as agreed by the Manager.
Responsible to: Nursery Manager
Main Duties:
1. To promote the aims and objectives of Baby Blossoms Nursery.
2. To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff, and visitors.
3. To assist the Manager and Deputy in showing parents around the nursery facilities.
4. To ensure the provision of high standards of physical, personal, social, and emotional care.
5. To lead a team of professional workers and ensure good practice at all times.
6. To follow Baby Blossoms safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well, and secure.
7. To assist with the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development.
8. To assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment.
9. To be responsible for the health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.
10. To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained.
11. To have strong organisational skills, excellent time management, and the ability to delegate appropriately.
12. To support all team members with early identification and intervention for children with possible special needs.
13. To ensure confidentiality of all information received and shared.
14. To assist with staff development and training.
15. To support the effective interview and selection process as required.
16. To support the induction of new team members as required.
17. To attend nursery management meetings and feed appropriate information back to the wider team.
18. To assist the Manager and Deputy in the supervision and training of students in placement within the nursery.
19. To liaise with parents, other family members, and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met.
20. To assist the Manager with the efficient upkeep and maintenance of the building and grounds.
21. To be involved in out of working hours activities where appropriate.
22. To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Manager.
