Post CCT Clinical Fellow in Endometriosis Surgery

We are looking to appoint to a Post CCT Clinical Fellow in Endometriosis Surgery to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a fixed term period of 12 months to commence as soon as possible.
This post is intended for someone who has completed their training (post CCT) and is on the specialist register. It is expected they would be intending to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an interest in the management of advanced endometriosis.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop clinical skills and be involved in service review and development. Opportunities for undertaking research will also be available, and the post holder will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
The post is mainly based in the Gynaecology Department of Jessop's Wing. Duties will include clinical work with patients of the unit, management of general gynaecology outpatient clinics, outpatient hysteroscopy clinics (both diagnostic and treatments), and endometriosis clinics. You will also be responsible for performing and assisting complex endometriosis surgery and will have the opportunity to develop a special interest in robotic surgery.
The post holder will also provide labour ward management at a senior registrar level and emergency gynaecology cover at a senior registrar level. Additionally, you will participate in the on-call rota for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department.

Qualifications
* Full Registration (or eligible to be registered) with the GMC with a licence to practise.
* Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and on the Specialist Register.
* Distinctions, Prizes, awards, scholarships, other degrees.
* Presentations.
* Publications.
* MD/PhD or equivalent.
Clinical experience
* Post CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and on the Specialist Register.
* Proficient in Gynaecological scanning.
* Broad based competence of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
* Completion of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery for Excision of benign disease ATSM.
* Experience in Endometriosis surgery.
* Experience in outpatient hysteroscopy.
* Evidence of participation in clinical management activities.
Teaching and training
* Experience of teaching medical students and junior doctors.
Research
* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
* Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Continuous Professional Development
* Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months.
* Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio.
Management and Administration
* Awareness of current issues in NHS.
Personal attributes
* Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values.
* The applicant must demonstrate skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking the English language that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as set out in the GMC's good medical practice (2013).
