We are currently recruiting for x2 Highway Assurance Engineers to be responsible for the creation and management of highway service audit programmes to support the delivery of the Council's Corporate Plan objectives, specifically around its priority area of delivering 'a transport network that is safe and well maintained.' The role will drive and sustain customer focus through ensuring that the highway works and designs that are delivered through the Highway Service Contract or carried out by 3rd parties are delivered to the required standard. The role will help ensure that the Highway Service Provider continually improves processes, drives innovation, and delivers value for money. The post holder will work with the wider Highway Client Team to develop quality-related performance measures which accurately monitor the standard of delivered works and report on any identified issues.
This is an excellent opportunity to join Cheshire East Council's Highways team. It's an exciting time for our Highways service. We're undergoing a big change, expanding our team with new roles so that we can continue to work effectively on developing our services.
You'll be joining an energetic and committed team with a great sense of purpose. We manage the council's Highway Service Contract, working collaboratively with our service provider to improve highway services in the borough. We're looking for experienced highways professionals who can deliver under pressure. You'll also have excellent communication skills, being able to explain complex information concisely to a wide range of people. Most of all, you'll thrive on getting the job done as part of a team.
You will be able to apply your excellent understanding of highway service delivery to developing comprehensive and effective audit and assurance processes for those services.
If this sounds like you, and delivering high-quality services for our residents is your passion, then we'd love to hear from you.
The role includes a generous annual leave provision, flexible working arrangements, and entry into the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Please see the attached job description and additional information in the applicant pack. Closing date for applications is 11:59pm on Monday 6th Jan 2025.
