Nursery Manager
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Salary: A£38,000 - A£42,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday (Rotating shift pattern, 40 hours, 07:45 to 18:15 over 4.5 days)

The Role
1. Building positive and trusting relationships with children and outstanding parent partnerships, including producing and sharing a weekly information sheet for families.
2. Providing a safe, hygienic, caring and stimulating environment for the children, following relevant safeguarding training where required.
3. Ensuring that the physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care provided to children is of the highest standard.
4. Leading the implementation of the relevant curriculum, including important aspects of our childcare ethos, including storytelling, respectful care and the Forest School approach.
5. Inspiring fun, inspirational and educational play and learning opportunities.
6. Effectively managing the day to day running of this outstanding nursery.
7. Ensuring the accuracy of the daily register & staff rota.
8. Maintaining accurate accounts for the nursery and producing management information when required.
9. Preparing monthly fee invoices.
10. Promoting the nursery to current and potential customers.
11. Recruiting, supporting, inducting, training and appraising all staff, to ensure high quality childcare practice and to develop staff teams and individual practitioners (including chairing regular staff meetings).
12. Working closely with the directors of the nursery and development manager, creating development plans for the nursery.
13. Working in consultation with HR in Disciplinary and Grievance investigations and meetings with regard to staff.
14. Implementing Health and Safety policies within the nursery and support from Risk Management team.
15. Working with the area SENCOs, EYFS advisors, and other health professionals.
Skills and Qualifications
1. A full and relevant Early Years & Childcare qualification at level 3 (Early Years Educator) is required for this role as a minimum.
2. Early Years & Childcare experience is also required.
3. A high degree of proficiency with the Microsoft suite of applications, Excel and Word is mandatory.
