The Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Community Manager to join our team and lead the growth, engagement, and overall experience of our professional community. This individual will be responsible for building, managing, and nurturing relationships within our community, with a particular focus on increasing member engagement, driving content and discussions, and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment.
As our Community Manager, you will play a central role in creating a thriving network that provides value to its members while supporting our company’s mission and goals. The ideal candidate has a strong track record in community building, is proactive in identifying and acting on community needs, and has a strategic mindset for scaling communities sustainably.
This is a full-time role, but we are a very flexible employer so a flexible working pattern will be considered.

The world’s leading Lean qualifications framework
LCS was developed in response to the lack of credible workplace-based Lean qualifications, which was inhibiting the development of staff lean capability training. A system was developed, piloted and launched and in 2014, the company, Lean Competency Services Ltd., was awarded the Cardiff University license to operate and develop the LCS. The LCS is internationally recognised, and the only university developed Lean workplace-based qualification, embraced by over 160 Member organisation’s worldwide and steadily gaining traction.

What you’ll be getting up to:
* Working with peers, own the development and execution of a robust community strategy that supports both LCS and Group strategic goals.
* Building strong and regular engagement across our Membership of over 160 companies through an active and engaging community programme.
* Collaborating with other organisations and communities to support Lean thinking growth across industries and regions linked to the LCS and wider Group strategic goals
* Supporting the commercial growth of the business in line with strategic ambitions through activities within this role but also through close collaboration with peers within the LCS and across the wider Group.
* Developing key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to the role and monitor to track progress and identify opportunities for optimisation, whilst also providing regular updates and reports to senior management on performance.
* Collaborating within the wider Group to ensure alignment and the exploitation of cross-business commercial opportunities.
* Collaborating with other organisations and communities to support Lean thinking growth across industries and regions.
Community Growth and Engagement
* Develop and execute community growth strategies that attract, onboard, and retain community members in line with LCS and group business goals.
* Actively engage with the community on various platforms (e.g., LCS community platform, social media, events etc) to facilitate collaboration and the growth of Lean thinking.
* Regularly meet Members to understand their organisational challenges, opening up opportunities for wider Group support.
* Identify and implement tactics to increase community engagement, such as discussion topics, content series, or member-led initiatives.
* Build and track community health metrics (e.g., member growth, engagement rates, active user metrics) and provide regular reporting.
* Collaborate with the wider group to ensure alignment and the exploitation of cross-business commercial opportunities.
* Collaborate with other organisations and communities to support Lean thinking and growth across industries and Geographical regions.
Content Creation and Curation
* Develop and manage a content calendar, producing valuable and relevant content that resonates with community members.
* Curate and share relevant industry news, insights, and updates to keep members informed and engaged.
* Collaborate with internal teams to provide educational resources, FAQs, and tutorials that empower members.
Event Planning and Execution
* Plan, promote, and host virtual and in-person events (e.g., webinars, meetups, panel discussions) to foster connections and encourage knowledge sharing among members.
* Collaborate with thought leaders and industry experts to bring in guest speakers and panellists that align with the community’s interests and goals.
* Act as a host/moderator during events to facilitate discussions and ensure a positive experience for participants.
Community Moderation and Support
* Monitor community discussions, respond to questions, and manage any conflicts or issues to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment.
* Serve as the main point of contact for community inquiries, addressing questions, feedback, and concerns promptly.
* Establish and enforce community guidelines, ensuring that all interactions align with our company values and brand voice.
Feedback Loop and Reporting
* Collect and analyse feedback from community members to continuously improve the community experience.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure community feedback informs product updates and business strategies.
* Regularly report on key community metrics, engagement trends, and growth milestones to internal stakeholders.
This role will be a great fit if you have
Experience : 3+ years of experience in community management, with a proven track record of growing and managing a professional or industry-specific community.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and mediate conversations effectively.
Project Management : Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience planning and executing events or initiatives.
Data-Driven Mindset : Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) and a comfort with measuring and interpreting engagement data.
Adaptability : Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and needs.
Passion for Community : A genuine passion for building communities and a deep understanding of what makes communities thrive.

The Location:
This role is based on a Hybrid basis from our office at Cardiff University.

This role pays a salary of up to £40,000, plus a profit share dependent on company and individual performance.
