Severe Asthma Nurse - Brighton
Part-time - 3 days a week (Mon, Thurs & Fri)

As part of the nursing service, you will play a key role in ensuring that patients receive a high standard of care and that clinical outcomes are maintained and improved at every opportunity.
The site that you will be working in will be a specialist tertiary referral service that provides care for patients from across the local area. The multi-disciplinary team includes consultants, specialist nurses, and pharmacists, who are dedicated to the care of patients with severe asthma.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage a delegated caseload of patients, as appropriate within the specialty, delivering individualised and personalised direct patient care.
* Provide clinical expertise, specialist advice and support across the whole spectrum of the service focusing on the provision of biologic medicines.
* Demonstrate in-depth specialist knowledge, skills, and innovative practice in the specialist area, ensuring the delivery of appropriate evidence-based care.
* Support, assist and encourage the multi-disciplinary team in resolving complex patient problems, by the provision of new and innovative models of case management.
* Demonstrate appropriate expert practice and specialist advice in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. This will necessitate high levels of autonomy and advocacy.
* Promote and implement patient-focused education and the information-giving strategy within the specialty.
* Demonstrate continuous evaluation of practice and make changes where appropriate, within the defined speciality.
Some experience within Respiratory is required; however, additional training will be given.
The applicant must have current NMC registration.
You must have excellent IT skills and exceptional planning and organisation capabilities.
This is not a ward-based role and requires the nurse to have a proven track record as an effective team player, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a self-motivated way.
