Start date: 14 April 2025 The role: The Subscriptions & Operations Manager is a key member of the team, primarily working independently whilst reporting to both the HALI Editor and Sales & Marketing Director on a weekly basis. They will manage all aspects of subscriptions and office administrations whilst also supporting the wider team with other tasks where required. They will assist the Social Media Editor to help deliver forward-looking campaigns to drive growth in subscriber numbers, product sales, boost online engagement and increase renewal rates to support revenue generation and business growth. Responsibilities Manage paid subscriptions and free controlled circulation Process subscription and book orders using in-house subscription system Build and maintain relationships with publishers and book stockists, managing all aspects of these partnerships, including oversight of the Amazon Sellers account. Respond to and follow up customer enquiries by email and telephone Take payments via TYL Natwest online portal Liaise with the mailing house to ensure orders are fulfilled in good time Fulfil postal and courier orders from the office that the mailing house cannot Stock management (office and mailing house) Create financial reports using spreadsheets Report monthly reports on subscription numbers and revenue growth Collaborate with directors on marketing and retention campaigns aimed at increasing subscriber numbers and improving renewal rates. Create financial and statistical tools and reports using spreadsheets Organise domestic and international shipments Keep abreast of all postal service regulation developments Ensure compliance with all import and export regulations, staying up to date with shipping processes and legal requirements. Manage and oversee shipping budgets, ensuring cost-effective logistics while maintaining efficiency. Update systems and processes as required Respond to and follow up customer enquiries by email and telephone Organise domestic and international shipments Keep abreast of all postal service regulation developments Support organisation before and at events and trade fairs Oversee design and build of new website and subscriptions system Manage supplier and partner relationships including publishers Upload new publications onto the website Liaise with the Social Media Editor to ensure the best content is produced in the digital space to promote subscriptions and new book releases (newsletters, social media, website) Office administration Assist other departments, including print editorial and sales where required The ideal applicant will have previous experience within a similar role, be able to manage their own workload and time, and have excellent organisational skills and a pro-active attitude.
