Reporting into the Engineering Team Manager, you role will be extremely
varied but as an example a Shift Technician can expect to:
* Maintaining and Optimising: Carrying out planned maintenance across the
site in a timely and safe way. Making sure that all equipment is working safely
and effectively daily.
* Troubleshooting and Repairing: Things inevitably break down and your role
will involve diagnosing and resolving any equipment breakdowns efficiently,
keeping our automated systems running smoothly and safely.
* Collaboration and Communication: As a Shift Technician you will work
collaboratively across the engineering team to assist in developing further
skills and sharing knowledge collectively.
* Continuous Improvement: Collaborate and work closely with other
departments to find ways to increase machine reliability on existing and new
equipment.
* Safety and Standards: It goes without saying that you will need to ensure all
maintenance activities are conducted safely and to the highest standards,
maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
* Team Development: Assisting in developing team skills and knowledge sharing to ensure we are all the best we can possibly be.
What We're Looking For:
* A strong technical background in either electrical and / or mechanical engineering, preferably within an FMCG environment
* A great team player with an ambition to succeed and learn from those around them.
* A natural problem solver, experienced with working with controls and analysing faults.
* We are looking for individuals who have a formal qualifaction in mechanical and / or electrical engineering (ie. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the appetite to convey and share technical information and knowledge clearly.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Self-motivation, consistency, and the ability to work at pace.
* Computer literacy is essential with the ability to use computerised systems to complete jam reports and to complete maintenance logs
* Physical fitness to safely perform engineering maintenance activities.
* Proficient English language skills for understanding safety information and technical manuals.
