We are a well-established Local Authority Specialist Secondary School in Crosby, Liverpool, committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). All of our students have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), designed to meet their individual needs and promote their personal development.
About the Role:
As a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will help deliver a curriculum that is adapted, engaging, and accessible, enabling every pupil to thrive.
You will be responsible for providing one-to-one and small group support, assisting in lesson planning and delivery, and encouraging students' social and emotional growth in a safe, nurturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide personalised support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals
2. Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities to meet varied learning needs
3. Promote a positive, inclusive, and secure classroom environment
4. Support students in developing social skills, self-confidence, and independence
5. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external professionals to monitor and review pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
1. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND or similar educational setting
2. A warm, empathetic approach and a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs
3. A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to act as a positive role model
4. Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
5. A genuine passion for helping young people overcome challenges and reach their full potential
