Main duties of the job
We are looking to support and develop the skills of pharmacy technicians to provide a varied range of services as well as some dispensary-based work. If you are interested in this post, you will need a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy services and be a registered pharmacy technician. An accuracy checking pharmacy technician would be desirable.
Job responsibilities
* To dispense, supply or administer medication including controlled drugs.
* Support the delivery of medicines management services, primary care, health promotion and education.
Person Specification
* BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical services.
* Appropriate accredited technician checking qualification.
* Knowledge of medicines optimisation.
* Pharmacy legal requirements and controlled drug legislation.
* Knowledge of Pharmacy Computer systems.
* Substance misuse knowledge.
* Has good understanding of security issues in relation to prison.
* Excellent verbal and communication skills.
* Able to prepare reports and bulletins.
