West Herts Oral, Maxillofacial & Orthodontics department is seeking to recruit a trust doctor in Orthodontics (ST3+) to join the team for a one year fixed term cover.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a progressive and dynamic team providing orthodontic services for complex and multidisciplinary cases across West Hertfordshire.
The successful candidate would work within a purpose-built department alongside maxillofacial surgery and radiographic facilities.
We offer 27 days’ annual leave and active support for study, quality improvement and patient safety work as part of our ‘We care’ improvement journey, and medical education and research.
The successful postholder will carry out clinical and administrative duties under the care of three consultant orthodontists. Duties will be able to provide orthodontic treatment for patients under consultant supervision.
There will be times when the Consultant are away from the department on the sessions when the post-holder attends, and he/she will be expected to provide continuity of care and emergency cover as appropriate on that session.
All departmental protocols and policies must be followed, and the post-holder must always seek advice when appropriate. The post-holder will be encouraged to update his/her knowledge and skills suitable for Continuous Dental Education also to be involved with departmental audit. The level of supervision will be dependent on the candidate's previous orthodontic experience and the frequency of observation and supervision will be reviewed following appointment.
There is no on call cover required for this post.
