Salary: Leadership Pay Scale Points 19-22 (£77,551 - £83,461 per annum)

Great Yarmouth Charter Academy is looking for an exceptional leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Vice Principal (Pastoral). The main responsibility of this role will be:
1. To be the lead officer for Safeguarding at the Academy (Designated Safeguarding Lead) and to implement all safeguarding elements of all relevant Academy / Trust policies.
2. To be the lead for equality, diversity and inclusion; ensuring all elements are fully embedded in all activities and policies across the school.
3. To work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to effectively deliver and manage good quality pastoral support programmes that develop excellent social and communication skills and support raising achievement.
4. To lead key strategic teams in understanding and developing high quality behaviour.
5. To ensure the Academy meets the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
6. To ensure that the Academy Quality Assurance procedures are undertaken rigorously.
The ideal candidate will have:
7. An appropriate degree and Qualified Teacher Status
8. Appropriate training for Safer Recruitment and Child Protection (in accordance with current legislation)
9. Experience as Senior Leader in secondary education
10. Evidence of impact at whole-school level in improving behaviour, reducing exclusions and improving attendance
11. Track record of raising standards
12. Line management experience in both curriculum and pastoral teams that led to positive outcomes.
