Key Responsibilities
The role of a Manager in Redhill offers excellent opportunities to work on a broad range of projects and clients. The right candidate can expect to spend around 60% of their working time working closely with the partners and more junior members of the team to deliver statutory audits to the firm’s clients. The role also offers a wider variety in responsibilities than many of our competitors, with 30% of the role relating to accounts work and 10% relating to advisory work. The candidate will get full exposure to client facing communication as they will be the first port of call for our clients in most cases. The candidate would also be expected to play an important role in the development of their peers and more junior colleagues on a day to day basis, both technically and professionally.
The candidate would be expected to manage the delivery of work and advice to the partner for approval and this consists of a good balance between working with more junior resource in the team and reviewing their output, and also being responsible for the preparation and delivery of ad-hoc advice direct to the partners.
The team’s clients consist largely of OMBs and entrepreneurial corporates and as such work regularly consist of the following matters:
* Overseeing the whole audit process of our clients, including, audit planning, client liaison, oversight, review and completion.
* Ensuring for each client all compliance deadlines are met (Companies House and HMRC), and the job is finalised to minimise partner review time.
* Fielding queries from clients about their business and getting specialist teams from across the firm, when relevant, to advise and deliver ad hoc projects for our clients. This may include HR, Corporate Tax, Payroll, Legal and Restructuring work.
* Working closely with overseas entities with their set up and compliance needs in the UK.
* Controlling the work in progress process by agreeing fees, raising bills and collecting debts.
We are a training firm and our people’s development is important to us and so the role of manager will include:
* Acts as training manager and mentor to allocated trainees.
* Work closely with the manager team to oversee the performance, wellbeing and productivity of wider team
* Assists with motivation of all staff and takes an active role in managing issues informally, raises more serious matters with HR where appropriate.
* Provide clear instruction and constructive feedback to staff in a timely manner.
* Produces training material and regularly presents training to trainees on a variety of topics.
As like the rest of the firm, the Redhill office is growing and so we invite our managers to get involved in practice development initiatives as well as expect them to build on current client relationships. The successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to assist with preparation and presentation of new client pitches.
The ideal candidate should be client focused with a solid knowledge base and experience of aspects of auditing standards, UK accounting standards and UK Corporation Tax compliance procedures.
