Job Title Maintenance Manager UK59 Job Description Reports to: Director of Services Location: Middlewich (Site Based) Introduction to role Vanderlande is the global market leader in automation systems and solutions for customers within the Airports, Parcel & Warehousing sectors striving to improve the competitiveness of our customers through Value Added logistic process automation. Vanderlande will have a strong strategic partnership with Jet 2. The distribution centre has our latest ADAPTO modular shuttle-based automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) that serves to supply Jet 2’s in flight operations. The site team provides 24/7 support to the operation to ensure high system availability and the fulfilment of customer orders. Role Responsibilities As a Maintenance Manager, you take an effect as a local ambassador of Vanderlande and will be responsible for a committed and competent service team on site. According to this, you will act as an important link between Vanderlande, our customer and suppliers. Your responsibilities and activities will include: Management of the local service team and responsible for the execution of the service contract including budget management and cost control. Single point of contact towards the customer for all operational and technical issues on site. Responsible for the continuous improvement of system performance and ways of working as well as learning continuously and developing professional potential and ability. Provide a safe working environment through championing and encouragement of a safety-first culture and ensure the team’s activities are carried out by Vanderlande’s SQE Management System Controlling and monitoring inventory. Scheduling and Coordinating work performed by outside vendors. Role Qualification and Skills Educated to at least an HNC level or equivalent in mechanical/mechatronic or electrical engineering and several years of proven experience in a similar position with management responsibility on-site, ideally in an environment of automated plants or a comparable industry Strong hands-on mentality, passion and analytical ability to structure and lead the resolution of system-related problems combined with an engaging mindset with strong management and customer liaison skills Relevant experience working with PLCs, Conveyor Systems, Lifting / Hoisting Equipment, Pneumatic / Hydraulic or network communications (Profibus, Fibre-Optics or Interbus) An understanding of WCS/WMS and general knowledge of Health & Safety legislation Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with a professional usage of MS Office What we offer 28 days of annual leave (excluding public holidays) Bupa Medical Cover YuLife – Wellbeing membership with fast access to GP appointments, promotion of health and wellbeing along with daily quests to gain Yucoins that can be swapped for shopping vouchers A challenging work environment with lots of opportunities of career progression.
