Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide reception duties
2. Open and close the practice where required
3. Receive and direct patients and visitors on arrival
4. Ensure reception waiting areas are kept clean and tidy
5. Operate telephone system
6. Receive and make calls as required
7. Care
8. Effectively use practice appointments system by navigating to appropriate clinician and booking appointments to best meet patient needs
9. Manage medical records
10. Ensure patient information and correspondence is appropriately processed and recorded on electronic and paper filing systems
11. Update electronic and paper medical records as required
12. Input onto and remove patients off clinical systems
13. Process incoming and outgoing post
14. Ensure correspondence is processed, actioned, recorded, and distributed appropriately
15. Provide Workflow/Summarising support to clinicians
16. Process repeat prescriptions
17. Receive and process requests for medication
18. Provide and maintain information necessary for contract compliance
19. Monitor designated workstreams/QOF areas and provide alerts, reports, and information regarding compliance to clinicians and managers as required
20. Take necessary follow-up action related to designated workstream areas, including contacting patients to arrange appointments
21. Ensure all patient interventions are correctly recorded and coded
22. Process Test Results
23. Receive and process test results from GPs
24. Ensure that these are provided to patients in line with practice policy, particularly in relation to confidentiality

26. Participate in supervision and training as required to meet the requirements of the role
27. Participate in the practice appraisal system
28. Perform tasks to the best of ability and contribute to the performance of the team
29. Quality, Governance & Compliance
30. Provide, collect, and collate statistics, prepare reports, and undertake research as required by the Business Manager
31. Organise and participate in relevant practice audits and take any agreed actions
32. Contribute to practice KPI achievements
33. Work within contractual and legislative requirements to ensure that the practice is safe, efficient, and provides the best possible care for patients
34. Offer suggestions to the Performance Team and Business Manager regarding practice improvements
35. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues within the scope of the role
36. Apply practice policies, standards, and guidance
37. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post
38. Support colleagues to provide service as required, including working flexibly to provide emergency cover
39. Participate in appraisal, supervision, and training as required
