Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Director to lead new business development efforts targeting UK-based family offices with assets under management (£50m+) within the institutional asset management space. This senior-level role is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional with deep knowledge of the asset management industry, a strong network within family offices, and the ability to deliver tailored solutions to high-net-worth clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* New Business Development: Identify and generate new business opportunities within the UK family office market, focusing on securing relationships with family offices managing £50m+ in assets.
* Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and expand relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within family offices, delivering customized asset management solutions to meet their unique needs.
* Market Research & Analysis: Conduct detailed market research to understand trends, challenges, and opportunities within the family office sector, positioning the firm as a trusted and innovative solution provider.
* Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategic sales plans, targeting key family offices and institutional clients with tailored asset management offerings, financial technology, and operational services.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including investment managers, portfolio managers, and product specialists, to deliver seamless solutions and exceptional client experiences.
* Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of proposals and presentations, articulating the company’s value proposition to potential family office clients.
* Client Onboarding & Retention: Oversee the client onboarding process, ensuring smooth transition and long-term partnership success. Maintain a strong focus on client satisfaction and retention.
* Performance Metrics: Meet and exceed sales and revenue targets while maintaining a high level of service quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements:
* Experience: Proven track record of at least 7-10 years in business development, sales, or relationship management within the asset management industry, with a specific focus on UK family offices or ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs).
* Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of institutional asset management, financial products, and services, with particular expertise in family office investment strategies and needs.
* Network: Established network of relationships within UK family offices, private wealth managers, and other relevant financial institutions.
* Strategic Thinker: Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and create customized solutions for clients.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and influence senior stakeholders.
* Client-Centric Approach: A highly client-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining long-term relationships.
* Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. A CFA, MBA, or similar advanced qualification would be advantageous.
* Location: Based in London, UK, with occasional travel required.
