We have supplied our products to numerous high-profile customers: Bentley, British Airways, Red Bull F1 Racing Team, Airbus, Astra Zeneca, and has a large social media following built around its thriving and active YouTube channel presented by the MD, Jonathan.
The Role
In line with the continued growth of our business a new role is being created for a Logistics Expert. This will be a great opportunity for a self-starter with domestic and international logistics experience to help us in getting our product to customers here in the UK as well as the EU, US and worldwide. Experience in both imports and exports is required as our company expands into other countries.
You will be responsible for sourcing then forging and managing relationships with logistics partners to secure the right services to consistently and cost-effectively deliver our goods to customers. We are looking for a problem-solver who is commercially minded, with experience in managing logistics solutions, ideally in an e-commerce environment.
We don’t always do things the traditional way here, so an individual with out-of-the-box thinking, and a desire to test, improve and develop new strategies is the perfect match to our small but passionate existing team.
Examples of some of your duties:
1. Setting up new domestic and international shipping partners
2. Strategically plan operations for all logistic elements of our manufacture, order and delivery cycle
3. Serving as a point of contact for customers and couriers on logistics-related issues
4. Day-to-day courier collections and returns management
5. Management of goods-in and goods-out processes
6. Collaborating with customer service, production, sales, purchasing and tech teams to establish all compliance and data elements are established to maintain levels of service
7. Procurement of shipping services, seeking best service rates from shipping partners
8. Imports of raw materials, component parts and machinery from Europe, Pakistan, China, the USA and further afield
9. Management of shipment documents including BOL, commercial invoices, packing lists etc.
10. Exports of goods and materials with both courier and freight services.
11. Export and import compliance matters
12. Communications with the wider team on all logistic related matters
13. Establishing and managing third party logistics (3PL)
Skills and Qualifications
First and foremost, we are looking for the right person to gel with our current team. We believe that the person matters more than the qualifications that they hold. However, we do require a proven track record in the field coupled with base-level competency demonstrated either through formal education, training or experience in similar industries. If you have the background of successfully navigating the logistics requirements within an international e-commerce business, and are looking for an exciting move to an ambitious business then this position is for you.
* 4+ years industry experience
* Great communication skills from an established negotiator
* Strong strategic thinking with the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse range of tasks
* The ability to continually appraise existing courier arrangements to make sure we are adopting the best services and attaining the optimum rates for those services.
* Demonstrable knowledge of logistics practices and compliance
* Ability to manage goods in, goods out and co-ordinate and manage material deliveries and storage
* Self-motivation and the ability to create and execute tasks independently
* Ability to justify your plans, goals and strategies to internal and external stakeholders
