Job Title: Building Surveyor.
Location: Chester.
Salary: up to £55K.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director / Division Manager, the key elements of the role include:
1. Undertaking site surveys of damaged buildings (Domestic, Commercial and Industrial). Recording all damage and defects and compilation of floor plans.
2. Carrying out inspections on social housing properties, paying particular attention to causation behind damp, mould, and condensation issues.
3. Compiling detailed schedules of works, including appropriate breakdowns and photographs.
4. Undertaking the role of Contract Administrator.
5. Liaising with clients, agents, consultants, and loss adjusters throughout the pre & construction phase of the project, effectively project managing the rebuild/repairs process.
6. Complying and adhering to all set service levels and key performance indicators.
7. Assisting in the identification, submission, and settlement of insurance claims under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
8. Evidencing and recording in support of any variations or unforeseen works items, including photographic evidence if necessary.
9. Dealing with planning applications and advising on property legislation and current building regulations.
10. Valuing contractor’s work and variations on an interim basis and issuing the required Certification for Payments.
11. Compilation of Final Accounts – balancing all project costs.
12. Commercial administration skills leading to the successful and timely delivery of the particular scheme(s).
