We are looking for a nurse with research and acute care experience to join our team of research nurses/practitioners at Ipswich Hospital. The role includes supporting studies across a wide range of specialities across the Trust.
The post will further develop specialist research skills under the guidance of the team leader and senior team members. We are keen to invest in and develop our staff, and a variety of training opportunities will be provided.
Our Region is supported by the Clinical Research Network: Eastern which is part of the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network, supporting research to improve patient care and the NHS.
Main duties of the job
The Research and Development department at ESNEFT is an established clinical research unit hosting a variety of studies from the NIHR portfolio, locally developed and commercially sponsored clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team.
A vital part of this role will be to provide excellent research care to patients who have consented to participate in research. The role will involve leading and supporting studies within the team, as well as supporting junior team members.
You must be able to prioritise and manage your time and workload effectively. Furthermore, you must be methodical and well-organised in order to undertake research activities, including following study protocols, clinical assessments, case report form completion, and daily management and coordination of study participants.
You will work across a range of studies including observational research, novel drug therapy, and clinical interventions.

Qualifications
* Current NMC registration
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Relevant teaching and mentoring experience
* Good Clinical Practice Training
Experience
* Extensive years nursing experience
* Research experience and/or management experience
* CTIMP experience
* Sample preparation and transportation
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice.
* Understanding and ability to apply clinical governance principles to practice.
* Knowledge of developments in specialty and current issues driving nursing in general.
* Ability to work as an effective team member and also autonomously, working within many speciality teams across the Trust.
* Willingness to undergo personal development and learn new skills.
* Understanding of legal and ethical requirements relating to patients, staff and research conduct.
