We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a thriving, family-owned SME business operating in the Construction/ Engineering sector. The Role:
As Financial Controller, you will be a key figure in shaping and professionalising the finance function, working closely with the CFO and the senior leadership team. This role offers a rare chance to establish yourself in a fast-growing organization while contributing to its strategic financial direction as it scales towards becoming an international £100m+ business. Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee month-end processes, including preparing P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
* Lead the budgeting process and develop robust rolling forecasts.
* Maintain strong financial controls and implement process improvements to support scalability.
* Manage external relationships, including banks, auditors, and insurance brokers.
* Mentor and develop a collaborative finance team.
* Deputise for the CFO when required, ensuring seamless leadership during critical periods.
What We're Looking For:
* ACCA/CIMA-qualified accountant with experience producing management accounts and leading finance teams.
* Proven ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, ideally in asset-based industries or scaling businesses. We are open to candidates from any sector background.
* Experience with financial audits, ERP systems, and driving operational efficiencies.
* A hands-on, collaborative approach with strong leadership skills.

* Salary: £80,000–£100,000 base salary (dependent upon experience) plus a performance-based bonus.
