Are you a highly skilledCategory Manager, proficient in allthings range assortment, pricing, product performanceand product quality? Comfortablenegotiating prices with strong supplier managementskills? Do you have drop shipexperience? Can you multi-task with the ability towork with numerous different products? Are you astrong people manager with previous leadershipexperience? Then we want to hear from you. You willwork closely with a category assistant and this rolecan be based anywhere in the UK, butideally Scotland or Gloucester, we have an excellentsalary on offer, with a bonus, salary sacrifice pension plus 23days holiday and your birthdayoff!
Mainresponsibilities:
* Usecustomer insight to build effective ranges for your designatedcategory
* Create a range and product offer thatis distinctive against our competition, and suitable for ourcustomers
* Identify product gaps in Categoryand new category opportunities
* Proactivelymonitor agreed key competitors for pricing, promotional activityand range gaps/opportunities
* Source new andalternative products, considering all aspects including packaging,damages, freight considerations, supplier stability, exchange rateexposure
* Constantly monitor category pricingagainst our competitors and proactively propose any changes tomaintain our market position.
* Manage effectiverelationships with existing suppliers, including regular mutualperformance reviews
* With establishedsuppliers, implement rebates and discuss marketing promotions, forexample contributions to special offer flyers or reduced buy pricesfor promotion periods
* Manage contracts andtrading terms with suppliers
* Conduct monthlyand quarterly reviews of category performance
What we’re looking for inyou:
* People management experience is essential
* Product Management/Buyingexperience is required with a preference for experience within theOffice Furniture product Categories.
* Ideally,you will have experience in Office Furniture Categories
* Ideally, you will have led or coached less-experiencedteam members (assistants)
* Drop ship experienceis required
* Strong attention todetail
* Strong negotiation skills
* Experience of working within aproduct/ecommerce/furniture business is an advantage
