We have an opportunity for experienced support workers for both day and waking night shifts to join our Residential Family Assessment Unit based in Reading, Berkshire. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are reliable and able to offer emotional and practical support to our residents.
Flourishing Families Parental Assessment Centre is located in a quiet residential estate in Reading, Berkshire. You will work under our Ofsted Registered Manager and our assessing social workers, and you need to be able to remain focused and calm and work in a family-centred way while remaining professional. The ethos of our Family residential home is to provide a homely and family-like environment to our service users.
Job duties include:
* Ability to keep clear and accurate records.
* Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and good organizational abilities.
* Ability to be an active team player and work on your own initiative.
* Commitment to good practice and a team approach to work.

* To ensure our unit is kept clean and tidy, adhering to the cleaning rota and encouraging our residents to participate as appropriate.
* To ensure that good quality report logs are maintained as required.
* To maintain and promote family residential support work to high levels of professionalism expected by Flourishing Families Parental Assessment Centre and Ofsted.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
* All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of their employment.
* Draw the attention of the Manager/Team Leader on duty to any areas of concern.
* To complete all face-to-face, online, and mandatory training.
* To be a member of a team of professional staff caring for our residents and to implement and contribute to the development of Care Plans.
* To contribute to the provision of a secure, stable, supportive environment for the parent and child which respects and promotes their health, culture, religion, race, identity, and lifestyle.
* To safeguard and promote the welfare of all our residents.
Schedule includes:
* 12-hour shifts
* Day shift
* Night shift
* Weekend availability
Education:
Preferable but not required qualifications:
* NVQ (Children) Level 3 and above
* Diploma of Higher Education
Preferable Experience within:
* Residential Family Support
* Community Family Support Work
* Experience of working as a family support worker
Please note we will require the successful candidate to undergo a full enhanced DBS check as this post will involve direct and indirect contact with children and vulnerable adults, therefore this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
