Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
WPB (Wealth & Personal Banking) UK is shifting to a data-driven approach under the Digital First strategy, with the Data and Analytics department playing a key role in this change. This department provides data analytics, machine learning, and management information to help measure, automate, and enhance business performance.
The Remediation Senior Analyst will work within a scrum team, within the Remediation Value Stream, taking on the technical lead for analytical design and methods. Working collaboratively with other scrum team members to ensure a quality output is delivered for our stakeholder. They also assist other members of the Analytics Chapter in different teams. The Senior Analyst typically has expertise in areas like Digital or Product Analytics and is actively involved in delivering analytics and mentoring others.
The department collaborates with various areas of WPB based on business needs, often partnering with head office roles where data can influence decisions or gain support for solutions. This role spans all UK Brands, including HSBC, first direct, M&S Bank, and John Lewis Financial Services, which produce vast amounts of data across numerous HSBC systems. This data is commonly stored in a Data Warehouse for analysis, with tables containing millions of records and hundreds of attributes.

In this role you will:
• Consult with stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into data products for reporting, visualization, analytics and machine learning.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Remediation Analytics team to ensure the right outcomes for our stakeholders and our customers.
• Find quantitative solutions to business problems and articulate the results clearly to all stakeholders.
• Create, develop, and sustain data products like tables, views, and segments, along with the necessary metadata and code.
• Work together with global colleagues to create build the right data products for the ask
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Prior role relevant experience of working within analytics is essential.
• Must have a high level of competence with SQL as well as experience of agile and agile lifecycle management tools, in particular JIRA and Confluence.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders is essential along with a customer focused mindset.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies like Python, Git, and GitHub is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with traditional data warehouse technologies like Teradata and analytics platforms such as SAS is preferred but not necessary.
This is a hybrid working role that could be based in either Leeds, Chester, Sheffield & Birmingham. There would be a minimum requirement to attend an office location 3 times a week.
