An opportunity has arisen within West Region for a Head of Service position. Likely to be based within the Argyll & Clyde area and the post holder’s base will be determined at interview. All Head of Service posts within the Regions are generic and the successful candidate would be responsible for the operational management of all SAS assets within that Sub Region.
The post holder will also carry a strategic portfolio of work as the lead officer across the sub region and will be expected to engage with partners within the NHS and externally at a strategic level. They will be responsible and accountable for performance achievement and delivery of service, including day-to-day operations of the Scottish Ambulance Service within a prescribed health board area(s). They will ensure that the devolved arrangements for Ambulance Services, Financial Management, Human Resources, Business Continuity, resilience and preparedness and local communications operate effectively and meet the standards and targets agreed by the Deputy Regional Director & NHS Board. The post holder will also deputise for the Deputy Regional Director as appropriate/required.
This is a Senior Post within the Region, and the successful candidate will be an individual who has a proven track record at middle management level (e.g. ASM or other appropriate management experience) and has a proven ability of achievement in operations and in delivering strategic objectives.
