Care to join our Facilities Management team as a Facilities Assistant?
You will carry out a range of duties associated with the provision of professional cleaning, catering and patient support activities.
At all times the position demands the respect of patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
You will:
* Communicate and work with Hospital staff and Patients to include members of the public and external contacts, Facilities Manager, Matron, ward manager and ward staff and other colleagues in the Trust.
* Work without direct supervision and work within the schedules prepared by the facilities management team.
* Make decisions regarding the order of your work to fit in with area procedures, priorities and patient needs.
Working Pattern: 18 hours a week various days/times
Main duties of the job
* Carry out all routine and ad-hoc cleaning duties including infection control procedures.
* Work within and complete the Trust Cleaning Method Statement Manual.
* Prepare and provide a food delivery service to patients, visitors and staff as requested.
* Carry out all tasks according to policies and food safety guide inclusive of HACCP.
* Provide a collection and delivery service for relevant service departments.
* Clean and safely store all Patient support equipment including medical gases and replace as required.
* Provide patient transportation within site area when required to include cadavers.
* Handle all types of linen to provide to wards and associated areas and other laundry duties.
* Assist with the unloading of supplies, correct storage, and distribution to departments.
* Use all PPE as required, including gloves, aprons, masks, and headwear.
* Report relevant pest infestations, equipment faults and need for repairs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Carry out all routine cleaning duties in accordance with the agreed cleaning work schedule and task frequencies to maintain National cleaning standards.
* Ensure that any cleaning rectification activity is undertaken promptly and thoroughly within the agreed timescale and standards.
* Cleaning of wards will be expected.
* Provide appropriate dietary needs and food delivery service to patients, visitors and staff as requested.
* Distribute, collect and collate menu cards.
* Clean catering areas and all associated equipment, clearing, washing and storage of crockery, cutlery and equipment in relation to the food and beverage service.
* Conduct routine security checks, checking that all outside lighting is working, assist with fire alarm testing, firefighting equipment checks, and ensuring the cleanliness of site vehicles.
Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Ability to work as part of a team within a range of routine work and procedures.
* Ability to prioritise and work flexibly.
* Advise and demonstrate activities in own area of work to new or less experienced members in the team.
* Experience within a professional cleaning role.
* Understanding of COSHH regulations.
Qualifications
* Basic Numeracy and Literacy skills.
* Basic keyboard and IT skills.
* Qualification in Food Hygiene level 2 or equivalent.
