Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Wentworth James Group has engaged with a key client and a leading team of engineers who specialize in delivering projects from concept through to build within the Plant Processing industries, such as waste to energy.
Due to an increase in project demand, we are seeking 2 seasoned Design Engineers to contribute to the mechanical design of a range of equipment for bespoke incinerator process plants including filtration systems, waste loading systems, and ancillary equipment. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in designing heavy industrial machinery, with a preference for those skilled in incinerators, furnaces, or kilns. The chosen candidate will be a key part of our diverse design team, collaborating extensively across all departments to ensure the delivery of unmatched product quality. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Development of fabrication, refractory, and general arrangement drawings adhering to the BS8888 standard.
2. Reviewing and validating colleagues' drawings.
3. Undertaking site surveys and feasibility assessments.
4. Compilation of bill of materials.
5. Liaising with suppliers and conducting quality inspections.
6. Providing technical support to the sales team.
7. Estimating fabrication costs.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Proficiency in SolidWorks.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in bespoke machinery design.
3. A valid UK driving license.
4. Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
5. Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team.
6. A degree in Engineering or a significant track record in engineering apprenticeships and design roles.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Shop floor/fabrication/practical experience.
2. Familiarity with AutoCAD LT.
3. Experience dealing with refractory materials.
