Wold Farms and White Rose are a growing business who specialise in the production of Red Tractor and RSPCA assured pigs and are dedicated to ensuring the high standards of animal welfare and production are met. Due to expansion within our fast-paced farming enterprise, an opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing and Supply Manager to help drive our ‘Stores and Warehouse’ strategy forward.
This position will be working within the existing senior management team ensuring smooth running of stocks and sundry supplies across the farming business as well as overseeing the newly developed warehouse and procurement process.
Main duties include (but are not limited to):
* Sourcing - Identifying potential suppliers, evaluating product capabilities, and negotiating contracts.
* Purchasing - Creating a purchasing strategy, managing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, and tracking orders/deliveries alongside the stores team.
* Inventory management - Monitoring inventory levels, collaborating with the stores and logistics team, and ensuring there is enough supply to meet organisational needs while coordinating and improving the farms order process.
* Cost saving - Working in a cost-effective manner to achieve goals, with an initiative-taking approach to cost-saving processes.
* Communication - Communicating with various suppliers to advise on supply chain performance, goals, processes, and product information.
* Research - Researching new procurement areas, assessing industry changes, and advising the business on issues that must be resolved before procurement begins.
* Reporting - Recording, reporting, and preparing data for the wider team.
Requirements, experience and person specification:
* Candidates must have strong analytical skills.
* Proven experience of stores management and business purchasing.
* The ability to collaborate effectively with internal team members and external suppliers.
* Have excellent working knowledge of Power BI and/or Excel reporting capabilities.
* CMEX and Nav experience are beneficial but not critical as training can be provided.
* Full UK Driving license is required as travel between our farm locations and offices will be necessary.
