The Training Solutions department is seeking a Training Development Specialist for a 12-month contract.
The Training Development Specialist is responsible for researching, developing and maintaining the technical content of Electrical Safety Authority's (ESA) technical training material, including material for specialized courses, safety awareness workshops, Code courses, and safety meetings and conference presentations while incorporating adult learning principles.
As the Training Development Specialist, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design, prepare and deliver "train-the-trainer" sessions.
Reporting to the Training Program Manager, you will review the scope and content of training offerings to ensure training presenters have a solid understanding of the content and learning objectives of the training material and respond to training requests and inquiries and supports effective communication between the training function and various departments.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Coordinate, administer and support the Electrical Safety Authority's training program by creating and maintaining Best Business Practices and Work Instructions for course development processes.
2. Design and deliver "train-the-trainer" presentations utilizing proven training methods and strategies.
3. Assist in defining, developing, and evaluating training opportunities and promptly responds to internal and external training requests and inquiries.
4. Incorporate adult learning, instructional design and e-Learning principles into training material.
5. Support, recommend revisions, and evaluate industry trends, products and services to maintain ESA's competitive position.
6. Strengthen communication with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Regulatory and Engineering) to stay abreast of upcoming changes to code and other regulations that may impact training content.
7. Ensure the delivery of training products and services meets the quality standards set for the Training program.
8. Monitor training presenters to ensure consistent application.
9. Maintain Learning Management System; provide team member and learner support regarding LMS issues and course content questions.
Who Are You?
You have a 4-year University or equivalent level of education, including 6 to 8 of years experience in adult education, training content development, e-Learning development, and/or training facilitation background.
* Knowledge of general business practices, adult education principles and learning theories are required to understand and apply current training programs in a business environment.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain, influence, listen, instruct, give clear feedback, and ask insightful questions.
* Powerful facilitation skills with a proven ability to bring a group to a resolution, decision, or conclusion.
* Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, MS Office and other computer-aided techniques for delivering training programs.
