Position: HSQE Manager
Location: West Midlands (Severn Trent Water Projects)
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 Plus Car/Allowance & Package (Negotiable)
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry, delivering a number of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects for Severn Trent Water.
They are recruiting for a HSQE Manager to lead and support the delivery of multiple water and wastewater treatment projects through the Severn Trent Water region. You will be supported by the Site Management Team and HSQE Team.
Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with site management teams and lead the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental team on the Framework in continually improving the Business Management Systems.
2. Provide professional support and advice to site management teams and staff on Occupational HSQE matters, including legislative and contractual requirements.
3. Coordinate all relevant HSQE documentation required as part of the framework, from project start-up to project completion.
4. Consult with the site teams and others to identify significant areas of risk, develop and document measures to control and reduce risks to an acceptable level.
5. Assist the site management teams in reviewing relevant documentation (direct and subcontractor) prior to commencement on site and as the works progress.
6. Review and coordinate consultation sessions.
7. Carry out site inspections with site teams, identify initiatives to improve performance and assist in addressing opportunities for improvement.
8. Coordinate learning reviews, produce relevant reports, advise and implement applicable recommendations.
9. Assist and collaborate with the clients' representatives, other stakeholders and relevant external bodies (e.g. enforcing agencies) and contribute to client and external site inspections and audits.
10. Attend monthly framework sessions with the client to review progress and areas for continual improvement.
11. Produce periodic framework HSQE reports as required and submit to relevant stakeholders.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
1. Experience in a similar management role in HSQE in civil construction.
2. 3rd level qualification in Health and Safety.
3. Experience with relevant HSQE standards and management systems.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
5. Chartered Member of IOSH/alternative professional institute (Desirable).
6. Health & Safety training in relevant industry areas (Desirable).
7. Qualification in Environmental and Quality Management (Desirable).
8. Instructor in Manual Handling/Abrasive Wheels/Working at Height/other relevant areas would be advantageous.
