About the Role:
An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join a Grounds Maintenance team who maintain Rights of Way within Wirral. We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to help provide an excellent service for local people.
The Team implements the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with staff, Friends Groups, service users and external organisations and will join the Grounds Maintenance team, based at Cleveland Street Depot, which is responsible for the maintenance of all Highway verges & some open spaces within Parks & Countryside.
The successful candidate will help implement the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with Rights of Way officer, staff, Friends Groups, service users and external organisation.
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will join the Grounds Maintenance team based at Cleveland Street Depot which is responsible for the maintenance of all Highway verges & Rights of Way some open spaces within Parks & Countryside. The Grounds Maintenance team work to provide a comprehensive grounds maintenance service to these areas.
You will have the following essential Knowledge & Skills:
1. Health & Safety awareness.
2. Full/Provisional Driving Licence.
As well as being able to carry out a full range of maintenance duties it will be desirable if you were skilled in at least one of the following:
1. Compact Ride-On Mowing Machines.
2. Experience in use of industrial horticultural machinery, strimmer, backpack blower, and hedge cutter.
Possession of the following Desirable Criteria will be advantageous: Towing of trailers and NVQ 2 in Amenity Horticulture.
Temporary Contract and hours are as follows:
31 weeks @ 36 hrs to commence on 31 st March 2025 to 31 st October 2025
Monday to Thursday 08.00am -16.30pm (8 hours per day)
Friday 8am - 12 noon (4 hours)
