Job overview
The Trust is seeking an experienced qualified solicitor to manage a busy legal department undergoing a restructure. The Head of Legal will oversee the transition from an 80% outsourced service to a fully resourced in-house team. This role involves setting up a department, implementing streamlined processes, and building relationships.
The department manages all healthcare law matters, requiring sound knowledge of an NHS legal setting and experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include conducting advocacy at straightforward inquests, advising on healthcare law matters, and overseeing clinical negligence and non-clinical claims.
Collaboration with complaints and patient safety/governance teams is essential for early identification of legal incidents.
