We are looking for an HGV driver to join our T imber haulage team moving sawn trees from the forest to the Sawmill. The position is available from our Invergordon, Inverness or Corpach depots. Shift patterns of Monday – Friday, Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday to Thursday are available.
Paid weekly – We offer competitive rates of pay: Basic rate £13.96hr, Overtime rate £16.24hr (paid after 8 hours in a shift), Overnight subsistence £29.01 per night and Loading allowance £3.11 (per load) together with an allocated truck and full PPE.
Company Induction, CPC and other refresher training is run in-house by our dedicated Driver Training.

Main areas of work
1. Deliver customers good in a professional and friendly manner
2. Ensure the most direct truck friendly route is taken
3. Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks.
4. Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
5. Ensure all PODs are captured accurately
Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, you will
6. Drive HGV1 Vehicles and other Company Vehicles as necessary according to licence provision
7. Drive HGV1 vehicles with attachment trailers when necessary: attachments to include: Flatbeds, curtain siders, occasional drop-sided trailers, low loaders, tanker trailers, forestry pin trailers
8. Maintain and update training to drive artic and rigid vehicles to comply with Company needs and legislation
9. To be available for training which may also be at weekends and on occasions be on employees own time
10. To load with care, general cargo including forestry products, round wood (as per round wood Code of Practice and Company Handbook), fertiliser, concrete products, steel and paper products and any other cargo required
11. To ensure safe and secure loading of cargo at commencement and throughout duration of the journey to off-loading cargo
12. Report any issues effectively and promptly to management
Skills and Experience
13. HGV Class 1 Licence – ideally with 2 – 4 years min experience
14. Driver Qualification Card
15. First Aid Certificate – not essential as training will be provided
16. Hi-ab Certificate – not essential as training will be provided
