We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Grade Doctor in Palliative Medicine to become part of the St. Peter's Hospice medical team. The post holder will join the senior medical team of 4 consultants, working alongside multi-professional colleagues to deliver high quality palliative care to patients and families in the wider Bristol area. They will be working in a supportive and collaborative environment for a much-loved and respected local charity. The role will have a strong focus on supporting patients in our community, both directly and by working closely with our CNS teams. The post holder will be taking part in work to improve access to services for those with non-cancer conditions. The post holder will also contribute to care of inpatients for 10 consultant-led beds. The role will involve contribution to our senior on call rota at 1 in 5 frequency.,
* Assessment and management of patients in the community (virtual and face to face) with complex palliative care needs
* Leadership and support to weekly community team meetings with CNS teams
* Support to medical advice line
* Leading patient management on the inpatient unit when cross covering colleagues
* Provision of 2nd on call support to medical advice line and inpatient unit at a 1 in 5 frequency
* Active engagement and leadership with quality improvement and service improvement activities
* Teaching and training of doctors in GP and Specialist Training Schemes
