Salary range - SM4C - £58,878 - £65,059 per annum

About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape our strategic housing remit, and future-proof our statutory housing services to help deliver our Corporate Priorities, in particular ‘A thriving economy and homes for all’. We have started the process of creating a single, focused and better resourced Housing Team to meet the challenges ahead and want you to help us complete it. This post, supported by the Senior Housing Services Manager, will provide the leadership and management to fully establish and embed the Team while delivering high quality services for our residents.
You will be overall responsible for housing policy and strategy, homelessness prevention and reduction, housing options, rough sleepers and asylum and migration service provision. Close partnership working with RP’s, GMCA, Homes England, MHCLG and developers will be a key aspect of the role in delivering the housing growth we need, of the right type, right tenure and in the right place. You will be supported by a dedicated and committed team of officers.

About you
You will be an experienced housing professional with a commitment to service improvement and the effective operation and coordination of Local Authority statutory housing functions. You will work collaboratively with other services and external partners, taking personal responsibility to resolve issues to make a difference to our communities.
You’ll also be able to demonstrate experience in managing and developing staff, alongside leadership abilities and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Extensive housing policy and strategy experience will be an advantage.
