1. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION
Subsea 7 has summer internship positions for engineering students to join us in our Houston, TX office. This will be a 10-week program during the summer that provides a great opportunity to come and work with us; learn about what we do and what it means to work for Subsea 7. The prospective interns should apply for the specific work tasks that most suit their interests/career goals.
The Fleet and Equipment Intern Candidate will be solving problems with practical answers to interesting equipment applicable to subsea intervention activities offshore. Ideal candidates will have some experience in Word, Excel, 3D CAD application, analysis of equipment diagrams and drawings. Candidates will have the opportunity to be accountable for a scope of work from equipment organization, planned maintenance, initial enquiry through preparation of detailed scope of work, preparation process, delivery, and project close out if that takes place during the internship time frame.
The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplined team with equipment superintendents, project engineers and supplier contact (internal & external) so therefore requires good interpersonal skills and personal organization.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Become familiar with the Pre-comm and Tooling Equipment Pool. Familiarization to include the interface and integration to the ROV system and general knowledge of the vessels.
2. Become familiar with Subsea 7 Business Management System documents applicable to the position and spreadsheet currently used for Pre-comm Equipment and Tooling.
3. Become familiar with applicable industry codes and standards including recommended practices.
4. Become proficient with equipment Maintenance plan, assist in the integration of the equipment into the TM Master maintenance system. Get guidance and familiarize with equipment specifications, equipment subcomponents, maintenance routines and records in the system.
5. Make technical reports on conditions the equipment is being received in coordination with the equipment owner and the workshop.
6. Get hands-on experience in the shop assembling tooling to see how best engineering practices translate to ease of assembly.

4. INTERFACES
Intern Supervisor - Formal reporting of feedback assessment. Frequent informal communications and assessments are required.
Intern Focal Point - Occasional informal communications are required.
5. CAPABILITY PROFILE - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS
1. Minimum of enrollment in a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering program (Mechanical, Ocean, Aerospace or Marine are preferred) from an ABET accredited university or equivalent.
2. Hands-on mechanical, hydraulic or industrial experience not required but preferred.
3. Aptitude and attitude to learn and experience seabed-to-surface equipment, basic engineering requirements, software tools, and other technical issues.
4. Ability to understand equipment specifications, components and maintenance plans applicable with the intent to control equipment and deliver service according to its capabilities.
5. Ability to obtain, interpret and apply relevant information for formulating sound solutions under the supervision of senior staff.
6. Ability to identify and use appropriate methods, tools and best industry practices to perform subsea interventions with company equipment under supervision of senior staff.
7. Ability to produce deliverables in a timely manner that are clear and accurate.
8. Ability to develop working relationships through effective communication.
9. Ability to apply logical analysis to break down problems and to develop solutions by creative thinking.
10. Ability to pursue goals, plan, prioritize and organize work.
11. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
6. WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Primary location of the position is in the Subsea 7 Bingle Rd office, located in Houston, TX.
2. No housing or relocation assistance provided.
3. 40 hours working week, Typical hours between 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 to 12:00 pm on Friday.
4. Overtime may be required to hit deadlines.
5. Some flexibility in work hours available.
6. May 27th, 2025 through August 1st, 2025.
