A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a leading organisation in Aberdeen for an initial 6 month period.
This role is ideal for a fully qualified Accountant looking to take on a key leadership role within an organisation who are impactful in their sector.
As Finance Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the Finance Department, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while delivering high-quality financial support. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will lead a team comprising a Group Accountant and an Assistant Accountant, driving efficiency, financial accuracy, and strategic insights across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing the preparation of annual consolidated statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors.
* Leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate variance monitoring.
* Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls and continuously improve financial systems.
* Providing leadership and development to the Finance Team, fostering a culture of excellence and customer service.
* Engaging with external stakeholders, including auditors, lenders, and regulatory bodies, to manage financial relationships and compliance.
* Supporting treasury management, fixed asset oversight, and financial IT projects.
Requirements:
* Fully qualified Accountant (CCAB recognised).
* Minimum of 6 years in financial and management accounting, with senior-level experience in staff management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
* Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, technical accounting expertise, advanced numeracy and analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software.
* Experience with Sun systems, knowledge of SORP, FRS 102, and VAT in charitable organisations.
