Job Description
A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Contracts Supervisor to join their highways team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, ongoing contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a Local Authority.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide an on-site presence and supervision at developments within the district for the purpose of supervision of contracts relating to Section 38 and 278 Agreements.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Provide clear and comprehensive advice to developers and contractors in relation to the construction of highways to be adopted.
2. Undertake specific technical support duties within Highways and Engineering.
3. Participate in the team working approach to the allocation of duties within the Site Supervision Team, where necessary leading small teams.
4. Establish effective working relationships with officers of other Services and Departments to enable Highways and Engineering to play a full and effective role in the corporate working of the authority
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require hold a NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor Accreditation, IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:
5. good report writing skills in order to record all details of site activity in relation to their inspections.
6. 10 years' experience of civil engineering contract works including highway construction.
7. Knowledge and Understanding of Civil Engineering Contracts, Documentation, Specification and Legislation (Health and Safety, CDM, etc.)
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £30 to £32 per hour Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £24 - £25 PAYE).
