The role:
You’ll put your creative design skills to work and collaborate on innovative campaigns with police officers and our friendly, supportive and highly motivated communications team - dedicated to helping keep people safe, combatting crime and building the trust and confidence of both the public and our 6000+ workforce.
What we are looking for:
We're looking for a creative artworker who is passionate about delivering high quality visual communication materials that will engage both our staff and the public in the demanding and positive work of Avon and Somerset Police. You'll be working alongside our graphic designer, delivering internal and external visual communication materials, including campaign work for high profile issues that build knowledge, trust and confidence in local communities.
Key responsibilities:
The day-to-day role of the creative artworker will involve assisting in a variety of ways including (but not limited to):
Developing corporate branded artwork.
Working to design briefs that will require photo editing, image/icon/infographic creation and preparing artwork for print or digital platforms.
Proofing artwork - ensuring the work is in line with brand guidelines and checking for quality and consistency throughout.
Liaising with external print/production suppliers.
Problem solving with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues.
Skills and experience:
A relevant qualification or equivalent level of creative experience.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office software (specifically Word and PowerPoint), with technical ability to edit and adapt artwork in various formats for print and digital platforms.
Keen eye for design detail and excellent layout skills.
Good verbal and written skills.
Can take a formulated design concept and following a design brief, mark-up and brand guidelines, execute through to final project delivery.
Multi-tasker with ability to manage and prioritise workload, under pressure.
