Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Reporting to: Agricultural Maintenance Manager
Overall aim of the job: Working across multiple sites, you will be responsible for testing and repairing equipment, both agricultural and domestic. This varied role requires good mechanical knowledge.
Key tasks within the job:
1. Planned maintenance in a highly regulated environment.
2. Isolates defective equipment from power supply, checks visually for faults, tests mechanical parts, isolates problem areas, and repairs.
3. Conducts preventative maintenance by checking for smooth operation and replacing worn parts.
4. Installs electrical systems and associated equipment, followed by certification.
5. Participates in the on-call system, potentially becoming an authorized person.
6. Adheres to safety rules and practices good mechanical and safety procedures.
7. Possesses a multi-skilled background, understanding of commercial, residential, and agricultural installations is an advantage.
8. Willing to undertake company training and workshops.
9. Experience in safe working practices.
10. Effective communication skills and flexible work approach.
11. Ability to use initiative, pay attention to detail, work independently and as part of a team, and prioritize tasks under pressure.
Qualifications:
* NVQ level 3 diploma or equivalent qualification.
* Mechanical Apprenticeship background preferred.

Job Type: Permanent
Hours per week: 48 hours
Working Times: Monday to Friday, starting from 6 am. On call every fortnight (£100 per weekend + hourly rate if required).
Pay Rate: £16 - £18 per hour, depending on qualifications (approx. £47k including on-call allowance and overtime).
