We're looking for an experienced Revenue Accountant to join our International team, based in Windsor.
This person will assist in the provision of a professional finance service, which provides timely and accurate information to the Corporate, Country Managers, and the appropriate external authorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP standards.
2. Maintain standard working papers supporting the calculated revenue recognition for the International region.
3. Support the audit process by gathering the required information and presenting it in a clear and standard format.
4. Review complex software revenue contracts to evaluate and implement the appropriate revenue recognition model in accordance with both ASC 606 (US GAAP) and internal management policies for both new and existing customers.
5. Review and update the work in progress schedules, working closely with the local controllers and Implementation teams.
6. Prepare the required analytics and segmental reporting for the financial statements.
7. Participate in the month-end close process by reviewing revenue-related journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting in reporting to the various stakeholders.
8. Collaborate with the Customer Operations Team (Billing) and General Accounting team to explain variances, provide inputs to forecasts, and identify trends in revenue.
9. Assist in external audits, statutory and where necessary tax.
10. Respond to ad hoc management requests.
11. Review, as appropriate, systems and procedures and make recommendations for their improvement to the International Controller.
Qualifications
1. The post-holder must be flexible, adaptable, and quick to learn new routines.
2. Attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to work to strict time-scales and meet deadlines.
3. Minimum 5 years previous experience working in a multinational environment using multi-currency systems and dealing with US GAAP software revenue recognition.
4. Qualified Accountant.
5. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
