Position: Lab Technician
Location: Milton Keynes
Department: Quality Control - Microbiological/Sterility Testing Laboratory
Purpose of Role: We are seeking a skilled Lab Technician to join our Quality Control team. In this role, you will perform microbiology testing, isolator and clean room testing, and manage investigations for deviations. You will contribute to the testing of finished products and intermediates in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), dossier specifications, and relevant pharmacopoeia requirements.
Key Accountabilities and Duties:
1. Perform and oversee microbiology testing of intermediate and finished products in compliance with GMP and relevant pharmacopoeia.
2. Train personnel on various microbiology tests, including bioburdens, water testing, plate reading, sterility testing, and growth promotion.
3. Ensure all laboratory activities comply with quality guidelines and regulatory requirements.
4. Release batches following established protocols, escalating any potential supply issues.
5. Raise deviations within our Quality Management System and support investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions (CAPA).
6. Manage change controls as a change owner/manager, ensuring all tasks are completed in the Quality Management System.
7. Conduct COSHH assessments and maintain safety documentation, promoting a safe laboratory environment.
8. Provide training on test procedures to new team members.
9. Accurately enter and lock test results in SAP and update SOPs and specifications to ensure they are relevant and current.
10. Complete safety actions within agreed timelines using assessment and Enablon.
Essential Criteria:
1. Microbiology lab experience
2. Knowledge of GMP compliance
3. Experience in Quality Control testing
4. Familiarity with laboratory investigations and interaction with Production/Manufacturing departments

Qualifications:
1. A degree in a relevant science field
