Job Description: SEN Teaching Assistant Location:
Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Halifax
Temporary, Full-Time hours
Education and Training
£12.85 - £15.00 Per hour
1. Providing support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom setting.
2. Assisting teachers in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN.
3. Helping students with personal care tasks, if required.
4. Supporting students in their learning activities and promoting their independence.
5. Collaborating with the SENCO and other staff members to create a supportive learning environment for students with SEN.
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification
- Experience working with individuals with SEN
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting
- Understanding of SEN support strategies
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Good organisational skills
- Patience and empathy towards students with SEN
- Additional training in supporting individuals with specific SEN needs
- First Aid certification
- Work primarily in a classroom setting
- May involve assisting students with physical disabilities
- Full-time hours with some flexibility required
- Temporary position with the possibility of extension

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
