Temporary Telehandler - Logistics

Pay Rate: £17.72 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 45 Monday – Friday, 07:30 - 16:30
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 12 months
City: HASTINGS
Responsible for operating a specialised type of forklift called a telehandler, which is designed to lift and move heavy loads over long distances and to heights that are not easily accessible by conventional forklifts. You will work on construction sites, warehouses, and other industrial settings where heavy loads need to be lifted and transported.
The telehandler has a versatile piece of equipment that can be fitted with various attachments, such as forks, buckets, or platforms, depending on the specific task. Responsible for selecting and attaching the appropriate equipment, based on the load to be lifted and the working conditions. They must also perform routine maintenance checks on the telehandler to ensure it is in safe and optimal working condition.
Key responsibilities:
Operating the telehandler to move and place materials
Conducting pre-operation checks to ensure that the telehandler is in good working condition and that all safety devices are functional
Using hand signals or radio communication to coordinate with other workers on site to ensure the safe movement of loads
Loading and unloading materials from trucks or other vehicles
Positioning the telehandler in the correct location to lift and move materials safely and efficiently
Carrying out routine maintenance and inspections on the telehandler
Following safety procedures and regulations
Key requirements:
CPCS or NPORS Telehandler Ticket for most telehandler positions in the UK
A certification or licence to operate heavy equipment may be required
A valid driver's licence may be required.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience in operating heavy equipment or a related field.
