Electrical Maintenance Technician (Job ID: 1731) Company: ASCO UK Limited Employment Type:Full Time/Permanent Location: Aberdeen/Peterhead As part of a multidiscipline maintenance team reporting to the Facilities Manager - Technical & Projects, the role will conduct both planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and unscheduled/reactive maintenance and repair tasks within a busy in-house facilities department in compliance with statutory and legal undertakings The role is primarily based in Peterhead with regular travel to Aberdeen required, for which use of a company vehicle is provided. Duties will include: •Execute planned and reactive maintenance issues with the electrical and mechanical systems across various sites in line with the departmental requirements. •Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, including testing and fault-finding on consumer units and plantroom switchgear. •General M&E maintenance including switches, lighting and HVAC, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers and ventilation along with various other duties as required. •Undertake sustainability projects, energy reduction initiatives and lighting upgrades •Adhere to preventative maintenance rotas and carry out quality control checks. •Assessing plans and planning layout of wiring, equipment, and fittings. •Involvement with telecommunication networks and their power supplies. •Safely use a range of tools to calibrate, inspect and test equipment and machinery to make sure they are working correctly and safely. •Liaise with and where necessary supervise internal and external personnel to ensure work tasks are always conducted in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. •Continuously promoting a pro-active HSSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance. •Present a positive image of the company through first class service delivery and customer engagement. •Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, colleagues and vendors. •Liaise with the department’s Helpdesk and manager to identify and plan schedule of works. •Plan and organise deliveries/shipments of materials to ensure that deadlines are met. •Confirm materials received correspond with paperwork, working with the helpdesk to investigate discrepancies. •Maintain clean and safe working environments within all operating areas. •Pro-actively assist with other team tasks, as required. Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours) •Experience operating on a maintenance contract and/or within a multi-disciplined team. •An understanding of practical application of statutory requirements along with general HSSEQ knowledge. •Solutions based, motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support. •Accustomed to working effectively in a fast paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure. •Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and in writing. •Ability to work stand-alone while a positive contributor to the wider team. •Strong attention to detail and excellent planning & organising skills. •Computer literate with operator knowledge across the Microsoft suite. Minimum Qualifications •Time served apprenticeship and SVQ/NVQ3 Electrical Maintenance and Systems. •Fixed Wiring, Testing and Inspection experience. •17th Edition qualified •Driving Licence Desirable Qualifications/Competencies •IOSH or other relevant HSSEQ qualification As you would expect from a highly progressive company, an attractive remuneration package is available to the successful applicant.
