A highly sought-after opportunity to work with a leading residential and office FF&E company. My client provides loose furnishing and interior solutions for a wide range of sectors including Build to Rent, PRS, Student Accommodation, and Co-Living. They specialise in loose furniture and furniture packages supported by expert in-house procurement, delivery, and installation teams.
This is a full-time, predominantly office-based role for an Estimator located in Halifax with some travel to sites. This is a new role in which the successful candidate will be working closely with the Estimating Manager and will assist the Bid Department in securing projects/orders for the continued growth of the business. The long-term aim will be to develop into an integral self-sufficient member of the Bid Team who is able to successfully tender, negotiate and secure projects/orders for the business as well as manage and maintain client relationships to ensure future work.
The Duties:
1. Assess enquiry documentation which can include drawings, specifications, employers’ requirements, NBS, etc.
2. Preparation of quote template with above information and our proposed product information.
3. Create and issue enquiry packs to existing supply chain partners to allow completion of quotes. This can be in the form of bill of quantities, specifications, drawings, visuals, etc.
4. Analysis and assessment of completed enquiry packs from supply chain partners.
5. Assist with negotiations with supply chain partners such as discounts, payment terms, etc.
6. Preparation of supplementary documents to assist with the bid process. This could be 3D visuals, specification booklets, mood boards, etc.
7. Assist with the development of our supply chain by identifying potential new suppliers.
8. Assist with pre and post tender meetings with clients to discuss our quote.
9. Assist with the design, procurement and installation of any samples/sample rooms which may be required.
10. Prepare documentation for pre-let meetings with the Design and Contracts departments prior to attending pre-let meetings with the client (along with the Design and Contracts department).
11. Assist with the briefing and handover of successfully won projects to the Design and Contracts departments.
12. Assist the Design and Contracts departments with any queries they may have during the delivery of the project.
13. Assist with the implementation of projects.
14. Perform purchasing functions, as requested.
15. Conduct sales functions, as requested.
16. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
17. Maintain accuracy within the Company administration system both electronically and in hard copy.
18. Liaise with the accounts department on financial matters.
The Requirements:
1. Must hold a 2:1 Degree in a Design or Engineering related subject or Quantity Surveying.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in an estimating role.
3. Completed a minimum of 12 to 24 months as a Graduate Estimator.
4. Minimum 2 years’ experience in an estimating role within a comparable organisation.
5. Ability to read and understand drawings and technical specifications.
6. A good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
7. Experience of using AutoCAD is desirable but not essential.
